CHILD WATCH
Child Watch is our babysitting program that is a benefit to our members. Parent/Guardians can drop their children off in safe, friendly, and adult-supervised environment while they participate in other ‘Y’ programs within our building.
It is available FREE to all Full Privilege Members, and $3 per visit, per child for Program Members. Parents must be in the building or participating in Y Programs while children are in the Childwatch program.

CREDIT/REFUND POLICY: No refunds for classes, programs or membership. Requests for credit, accompanied by a doctor’s note will be considered when four or more classes are missed due to illness. Requests in writing must be received within the program session. Classes cancelled due to weather-related closings or emergencies beyond our control will not be rescheduled or refunded. Class changes can be made only up to the begnning of the second week of class. There is a $5 processing fee. All changes must be approved by the Branch Director.
Please note: A $5 service charge will be deducted from all credits and refunds and there is a $25 charge per instance of returned check/bank draft.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS: The YMCA reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment.
CLASS MAKE-UPS: Please attend your scheduled class, as make-up classes are not available. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel a class based upon inclement weather at their discretion.
FACILITY CLOSINGS: We reserve the right to close part or all of the facilities, without notice, in the interest of member safety.
“ALWAYS WELCOME AT YMCAs”
Members of other YMCAs outside of New Jersey visiting the Somerset Valley YMCA are welcome to use our facilities at no cost. “Away” members visiting from within New Jersey are welcome to use the facility at 1/2 the guest rate. Presentation of a valid YMCA membership card and driver’s license are required.

Allows continuous membership privileges through payment of a low monthly fee.
Step 1: Complete a Membership Application form.
Step 2: Complete and sign authorization to allow the Somerset Valley YMCA to take the bank or credit card monthly payments. To cancel, a 30 day written notice must be provided.
Step 3: Provide voided check/credit card imprint.
Y CARES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Somerset Valley YMCA is committed to serving the community by making programs, services and facilities available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. The YMCA is proud to offer a confidential financial assistance program, Y Cares. Applications to receive financial assistance are available at the front desk or by calling any of our locations or on-line at: www.ymcasomersetvalley.org.

CODE OF CONDUCT
The Somerset Valley YMCA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members and guests. YMCA members should exemplify the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Y’s commitment to fellowship, integrity and community involvement and behavior should be reflected in the conduct and behavior of its members and guests. To promote safety and comfort for all, we ask individuals to act appropriately at all times when they are in our facility or participating in our programs.
We expect persons using the YMCA to behave in a mature and responsible way and to respect the rights and dignity of others. Our Code of Conduct does not permit language or any action that can hurt or frighten another person or that falls below a generally accepted standard of conduct. Specifically this includes:
- Inappropriate attire - appropriate attire must be worn at all times for the activity. Offensive wording on shirts or accessories falls under this area.
- Aids the unauthorized entrance of a non-member
- Angry or vulgar language including swearing, name-calling or shouting
- Physical contact with another person in any angry or threatening way
- Any demonstration of sexual contact or activity
- Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language or any other menacing behavior
- Destruction of YMCA property including thievery
- Carrying or concealing any weapons or devices or objects which may be used as weapons.
- Using or possessing illegal substances or alcohol in or on YMCA property or at YMCA sponsored programs
- Any other conduct of an inappropriate, threatening or offensive nature, i.e., interrupting fitness classes or other structured workout by non-participants
- All children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the facility.
Failure to observe the YMCA Code of Conduct may result in a termination of membership, with no refund.

Please note: The Health and Wellness Center is not continuously supervised. Members exercise at their own risk and should always exercise safely.
WELLNESS CENTER RULES
Members must be a least 13 years old to use fitness center.
Be sure to attend a fitness center orientation.
All gym bags, coats and jackets must be placed in lockers.
Always wipe down equipment after use.
If doing multiple sets, allow others to use the equipment in between sets.
Proper workout attire must be worn – shirts and shoes must be worn at all times, no sandals, flip flops, jeans, etc.
Always re-rack the weights!
When members are waiting, limit your time to no more than 30 minutes on cardio equipment.

PERSONAL TRAINING
Let one of our certified personal trainers help you reach your fitness goals. Each 60 minute session may include strength, stability, cardio, yoga, agility training or whatever else you may need to feel successful. Private training sessions are one client, one trainer and can provide you with individualized instruction. Duet training sessions are for two clients, one trainer with similar skill level and goals in mind to work together with one trainer and share the investment. All packages are good for 6 months from purchase date. Payment is required in advance with a 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. No refunds.

Let the Somerset Valley YMCA host your next birthday party. Choose from gym, pool and specialty themed parties. Pool parties include one hour free swim and one hour of party room. Gym Parties include one hour of obstacle courses, games and parachute play or a specific sport and one hour of party room. Certain restrictions may apply based on age group. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for all party reservations.
