PEE WEE SPORTS SAMPLER (4-7 yrs.)
Give your child the opportunity to sample lots of sports in one great class! Participants will learn the basics of a different sport each week, such as soccer, football, tee-ball, basketball, softie hockey, and much more! Our focus is to teach kids how to work together and be a good sport.
ROOKIES BASKETBALL (4-7 yrs.)
Come Dribble, Pass, and Shoot your way in this fun new basketball class. This class is geared toward working on the fundamentals of Basketball in an age appropriate way.
ENRICHMENT CLASSES
Y PLAY GROUP - (4 yrs. and under)
A play group has formed for children at the Somerville Family YMCA on Thursdays in the gym from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Parents must be in attendance. -FREE to members-
Y STORY HOUR AND CRAFT - (5 yrs. and under)
Join us for a great story! Children will then create a craft based on the story with their parents’ help! Program offered 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. (All children must be accompanied by an adult). Time is 10:00am - 11:00am.
SUPER SCIENCE SAMPER – (7-12 yrs.)
Have your child join us for a class full of awesome experiments that explore nature, chemistry, and all kinds of cool concepts of science! Children will participate in exciting experiments and have daily take-homes. Come for the fun tests, excellent explosions, silly slimes, and have a blast learning about science!
YMCA TEEN LEADERS CLUB (12+ yrs.)
HILLSBOROUGH AND SOMERVILLE
There so many things to do at the Y for young kids and adults that teens get lost in between. Not now! Come to a meeting of our YMCA Teen Leaders Club and hang out with friends your age, talking about things that are important to you. This club is for members and non-members, and is at no cost. Just come to a meeting for some good talks and mentoring from peers and others, as well as to learn about volunteer opportunities in the YMCA and the community. The groups will meet the second Wednesday of each month. GYMNASTICS CLASSES
From rolling, to tumbling, to flipping to spinning, balancing and jumping...come experience the sport designed to give you full body strength and flexibility. From parent/toddler classes all the way to pre-team and competitive teams for boys and girls! This is a great program to grow in!!!
TUMBLING TYKES (18 mo.- 3 yrs.)
Let your toddler explore movement in a safe, nurturing environment. Children love running over and through the obstacle course and playing fun parachute games. Combine with a swim class directly after for a fun filled adventure at a discounted price!
LITTLE GYMNAST (3-5 yrs.)
This class focuses on the rudimentary skills of gymnastics. The program is designed for the young gymnast, as we work on pencil rolls, forward and backward rolls, tucks, jumps, balance beam and proper posture in a developmentally appropriate atmosphere.
ALL BOYS GYMNASTICS (6+ yrs.)
Come check out a sport that requires strength, precision, and dedication – gymnastics! This class is for boys only, to work on the skills and events that the boys do in competition. Boys may join other classes if this time is not convenient, but this is the class for all boys.
Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm or Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm
